The Apollo program was a human spaceflight program undertaken by NASA during the years 1961 -- 1975 with the goal of conducting manned moon landing missions. President John F. Kennedy announced this goal in 1961, and it was accomplished on July 20, 1969 by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 mission. Five other Apollo missions also landed astronauts on the Moon, the last one in 1972. These six Apollo spaceflights are the only times humans have landed on another world.

  • Why haven't we been ...

Why haven't we been back? Well! To be honest, there isn't much to go back for, the moon is very boring really! There isn't a lot there other than rocks and dust and we took plenty back with us. Secondly it cost a lot of money to get there and most nations have better things to do with there cash, like making weapons !!!! As for seeing no stars in videos...you try and go out one night with your camera and see if you can get any stars on a picture?

  • Or in another words ...

Or in another words why they never returned?I mean it is so easyar now doesn't?I think the answer for this question is a hard one.Because then we could have comparative images ,footages and a lot of other things.I don't take any side ,that it is true or not that a man was on the moon.Only i know that if it was a hoax,it's a whole nation's honor in the line. And that makes and always will make very difficult ,especially after so many years, the truth to came out.

  • Believe me its a ...

Believe me its a hoax. Space missions are done in daylight because it makes it difficult for telescopes to see what is really going on. We may know more about what space than our own planet but if all mathematic geniuses have so much brains how come they don't go into space? Glass would be shattered in space because the atmosphere is so extreme and that is what would happen to space helmets. Do you honestly in your own strong belief that somebody went into space? Tell me how they did it

  • I don't want to ...

I don't want to take sides in the debate but in all fairness, the moon reflects the suns light. If I were standing on a very bright reflective surface like that, I would assume that it would be difficult to see any stars. Try viewing stars when you're in the bright lights of a stadium at night.

  • But tell me how ...

But tell me how many of these rockets do you know of that have gone beyond this world? Back at that time, there were no mobiles. I see your point in how long rockets have been invented for military purposes but how can you prove there were moon landings. There is no atmosphere in space so how could anything on this planet survive with no atmosphere?

First object into space was the German V2 Rocket in 1943.First into orbit was USSR Sputnik 1 in 1957. The US rocket explorer 1 took off in January 1958. And in April 1961 Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space!
In 1950 Siegfried Hansen and colleagues at Litton Industries built a working space suit, which was tested inside vacuum chambers . NASA started the Mercury Project in 1958. adapting the X-15 high-altitude suit .they called it the Navy Mark V.

  • There may be ...

There may be nothing new about the computer but back then they may have had aircraft that we see on the screen but none that go beyond the Earth. The sun's rays are so powerful and since there is no atmosphere out in space the helmet on the outfit would shatter and so would the window on the spacecraft and also the sun would blind the astronauts. Would you agree or what do you think of what I've said?

one night, when the sky is clear, take a picture of the night sky and see how many stars are on you picture! Our eyes are fine for viewing dim lights but you will need to set a camera on a very low shutter speed to get any stars on a picture

  • Excuse the language ...

Excuse the language but I think it's bullshit. There is strong evidence to prove that there was no man on the moon. When you take a good look at the video of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon you will notice there are no stars in the background. Back in the 60's there were no DVD's or mobiles so how could they possibly have had the technology at the time to go beyond this world? You don't see the rest of us going to the moon, do you? Buzz and Neil were sworn to secrecy to keep quiet

The Moon (Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite, and is the fifth largest one in the Solar System. The Moon has a diameter of 3,474 km slightly more than a quarter that of the Earth .the volume of the Moon is about 2 percent that of Earth The gravitational pull at its surface is about 17 percent of the Earth's. The Moon has an atmosphere but it is so thin as to be almost negligible, with a total atmospheric mass of less than 104 kg
