  • Good commercial. ...

Good commercial. The lie perpetrated by the Wal-Marts, anti-worker senators and the like must be exposed. The bill does NOT take away the secret ballot election. It puts the choice in the workers hands, not in the corporations, as it should have been in the first place.

  • Goddamn dirty pinko ...

Goddamn dirty pinko F****t ! What, and let the terrorists win?

Jay Kay, but really now, I agree. We should stop demonizing all that seems socialist at first glance and take a moment to reevaluate that which we value in our society. Such entities are often socialist, or derived from it.

  • I do agree we are ...

I do agree we are already largely socialist, but in much more areas than that. However, I don't agree that firemen would fall in that area. I don't think socialism is moral and it does not ensure greater opportunity. It doesn't work, we see that now in our economy. In both communism and socialism, govt HAS to control private citizens and their money either by taking it or making laws limiting your rights. Socialism invents "rights" based on needs and violates real rights as citizens! peace

  • Here's an idea. ...

Here's an idea. Why don't the schmucks who are so pro union for their own car companies, walmarts, etc. Then they can determine what their pay should be. All these years, and not 1 union could do that. Wonder why?
We see what unions with govt. support and coercion have done to the car companies. Just give us jobs, we don't care if they're necessary or not. Leftists cried that GM was producing cars nobody wanted. They're the same ones bitching when GM wanted to close a production line. gee

  • The misconception ...

The misconception among the general American populace--especially the more right-wing citizens--is that socialism is essentially communism. It is true that elements of socialism are present within communism, but both are distinct moral and political philosophies.

Socialism is simply a philosophy which ensures greater opportunity for all. I am not an advocate of socialism in the least--but to mark it as evil is dead wrong.

America is already largely socialized: firemen, libraries, and so on.

  • Now days it's based ...

Now days it's based on the amount of trainies brought in. The state help to fund the training. The more apprentices, the more money. if a apprentice drops out, the program keeps the money. As when I join the program. The class started with 168. by the end of the 4 years there were only 17 to turn out. They also know the kids of today refuse to give the sacrifices it takes to be a apprentice.

I remember when apprenticeship programs only hired through nepotism. Has it really changed that much? I don't think so.
