And I think a major factor, as Lennon mentions in a lot of interviews, to their evolvement in lyrical content and substance was Dylan. It makes sense when you think about it. Here you are, the most popular band singing such songs as "Love me Do" and "P.S I love you" while another emerging big artist is singing relevant songs such as "Blowing in the wind" and "The times they are a changin". Something had to change.

I went to his concert for the first time at EMU Friday night. We were dissapointed because he did not perform greats such as this one, blowin in the wind, like a rolling stone etc etc. But nevertheless, I can now say I saw this man live.
