to put it simple. america's a big endless wastebucket...
By rh4ndum [Affiliate User] 1212532530 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveU pretty much summed up the truth. the oil cartel owns the u.s. govt.
By azmoy [Affiliate User] 1211458438 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHow can Americans buy diesel or any alternative fuel vehicle if it's not even sold in the US? Mercedes, VW, and American full-size pickup trucks are the only vehicles I know of that are sold as diesels. That explains the 6%. Not to mention diesel is more expensive that gasoline in the US.
By palebeachbum [Affiliate User] 1210674136 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHA!
Don't tell me.
How much do you pay for a gallon?
I live in Germay a I must pay 9 Dollar for one gallon. Believe me or not.
Everyone is complaining, bit no one is buying alternative cars. Even if you must pay 9 dollar for a gallon.
The prices here a hard punsh in the face of everyone who needs a car.
Of course the oil cartels are bastards.
But the other problem is that the customers don't support alternatives cars. That's a fact.
Her in Germany you can choose between fuel, liqiud gas or diesel. Liqiud gas is nearly 3 times cheaper then fuel. Only a handfull of people choose liquid gas.
Right now 1 gallon of fuel costs 9 (nine!) dollar in Germany.
They don't mass produce it not because the oil catels won't let them.
Volkswagen started with a car, the Lupo 3L, wich was the first car that really ran 80 miles per gallon. They stopped producing it. No one bought it.
Audi cam up with the A2 3L, again 80 miles per gallon. No one bought it.
Honda now has a hydrogen fuel car that it is
going to make available for lease in the
So California to only a handful of people.
Why can't they mass produce it? Because the oil cartels won't let them. If you live in
CA,or NY Honda has a Civic sedan powered by natural gas. If you have gas heat, they will install a filling station right at your home.
The cost for 1 gallon-equivalent of gasoline
is 73 cents and takes about 8 gallons-equivalent of gasoline to fill up. 204 mls
per tank.
No its not the most stupid thing you've heard
on youtube because if you had half a brain you would know that the oil cartels with the
help of the govt. have control of the energy
industry right now. There is no justifible
reason for the current fuel prices right now.
There is plenty of oil out there right now and OPEC is stickin it up our asses and they are making more money than they know what to do with. Lets not forget the 73 fuel crisis
that OPEC caused and there was no reason forit
@al080664
"they have a turbo fuckin diesel version that gets 70 mpg and they won't sell it in the US because they don't want you to get that kind of mileage".
This is one of the most stupid things I read on Youtube.
In Germany 51 percent of all new bought cars are diesel powered. In the USA only 6 percent!!!
If Americans don't buy diesel versions, why selling them in the USA?
Why wouldnt they want us to get that good of gas mileage, there are lots of toyota prius hybrids that get 60- 75 MPG the smart diesel would just be cheaper to buy
By logansportking [Affiliate User] 1210256921 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewith all due respect wmichswingers. I'll believe that when I see it and even if they do.
Whats to say diesel won't be $7.00 a gallon
by then so it wouldn't even matter.
Actually I just talked to a dealer today and they are bringing it here in 1-2 years...
By wmichswingers [Affiliate User] 1209841111 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe reason why the euro version gets better
mileage is because they have a turbo fuckin diesel version that gets 70 mpg and they won't
sell it in the US because they don't want you to get that kind of mileage so I wouldn't fuckin buy the Smart car because mercedes is insulting your intelligence. A Honda Fit
is a very good fuel efficient car that gets
about 38 mpg highway.
What about the EV-1, bring it back.
By SAJU0 [Affiliate User] 1209263076 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou'd figure this fagmobile would get better than 40 mpg since it's so small. you could buy a corolla and look slightly less gay.
By brgroom [Affiliate User] 1208876871 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes! Be afraid! Be very afraid! Base all your decisions and purchases on FEAR! You will DIE if you don't buy bigger stuff! Big is cool! small is DEATH! Use more oil or DIE!
By stopmojim [Affiliate User] 1206970893 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOh thanks! I was confused about that.
By rowsdower12 [Affiliate User] 1206466408 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe 28 grand price was for the euro IMPORTED version in which most of the cost was for shipping, they start @ $11 grand in the US.

LOL!
By JOSH82886 [Affiliate User] 1206391627 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI agree, I love this car for the size and yeah the European model does get better mileage. Go figure huh? For me personally this car fits me cause I'm single and I usually ride alone plus I love small cars. But this car is essentially a Yaris or ECHO with two seats that gets the same mileage yet requires premium. Tsk, tsk Mercedes. I think people buy it cause of its novelty, eventually like all new cars it will wear off (not completely) but it won't be as hyped. Take the MINI for example.
By rowsdower12 [Affiliate User] 1206182829 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTrue; I was dissapointed to learn about gas mileage. The model they sell in Europe gets better mileage. The real advantages of the Smart are reduced length and greater maneuverability, in the case of the Echo, it is actually available, and in the case of the Yaris, slightly better mileage. The real reason people like this car is its size.
By EmmeJayKay [Affiliate User] 1206153325 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove28K??? Where are you getting this?? For the 08 Smart the U.S. spec does get 30 to 40 which isn't great for a car of this size and engine. My ECHO can get this and better (depending on weather) same with the new Yaris and some other cars. Plus this car requires premium where's the others only need regular. Don't get me wrong I like the Smart but there just seems so much riding against it. Which is too bad. It had potential.
By rowsdower12 [Affiliate User] 1206135072 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat would happen to most people in a head on accident.
