Macross Frontier Op 2 (HQ)

Thank god there's someone that knows about that, to make that sort of animation is almost to impossible now with everything going digital.

am well aware of that but the thing is the artwork are no better than the actual anime and that's cheap. Of course during prod things have to be modified to speed things up, lower prod cost etc but at least when you go buy an artbook of the serie you won't be disapointed, just look at Amano for instance and his FF drawings, it has nothing to do with the actual game but it gives them some art direction nonetheless
And as for macross 7 even though the prod was cheap, I still liked the style better

Mikimoto's sketchy style would never work in this day and age of anime production. You are aware of that right? Noone works on analog anymore, everything is digital. Either ways, Mikimoto's style of unrefined drawing style wouldn't work in anime either today or even a decade earlier. His style of sketchy drawing wouldn't work in any type of motion visual production. If you want to argue in favor of Macross7 series, then all they did was take Mikimoto's character design, not his artstyle.

the opening is actually good, very nice song and scenes etc, but I can't help it, the chara design is just so cheap for a macross, where did all the refinement gone? Give us Mikimoto Haruhiko back please!

Great OP (and too much Ranka & Sheryl? Are you mad!? :P) and the song is a vast improvement on Triangular. That really disappointed me, mostly as it was sung by Maaya Sakamoto, which means it should have reminded me of the RahXephon opening. Which it didn't.

Pretty cool opening. Focuses too much on Ranka and Sheryl though. I liked the first one better cause it had like, everyone in it.
