So the media that was cowed by the right wing in the war -- you mean that media? What is the opposing point of view to a free press? Communism? This speech is ABOUT protecting net neutrality, free speech and stuff ...

frankcastlez, this isn't a partisan issue. MANY people say free speech, which is why the kind of media consolidation Moyers is talking about is a form of mental imperialism. having 3 or 4 stations, driven by profit, dictating our civic discourse is a disgrace. media democracy champions a PLURALITY of voices, that is, allowing for "far left" "far right" and apolitical loons to have their own LOCAL radio stations, and to free the airwaves (and webwaves) from the interests of a powerful few.

i wouldn't link "911 inside job" with "war for oil." the latter is a legitimate narrative that has been the stated belief of plenty of people who would be impossible to caricatur-ize as "far left loons" (alan greenspan, for example.) personally i don't believe that the war was JUST for oil, but i do believe that dismissing any counternarrative (especially ones that are painfully plausible in their truth) as "radical far left feminist elite nonsense" is a tactic that is wearing incredibly thin.

It's free press... so long as you don't disagree. Ever try debating a political partisan? Journalism today is hurting, badly.

The total hypocrisy of the people on the far left is almost painful to witness. They say free speech and they won't let people who disagree with them say their point of view. They say no war and they use harassment and threats to scare people that oppose them. They side with organizations that are the known violators of human rights and accuse one of the most free, fair and honest nations on earth of being a imperialist power.

Moyer's message should be required viewing for every high school students. I'm afraid rclopez1118 needs to grow up a little and stop foaming at the mouth. Is there something in the speech he finds inaccurate? Why can't some people just discuss, without using vile hate language?
