The Green Berets

When the US Army refers to Rangers, they refer to the 75th Ranger Regiment, which specializes in high risk light infantry ops and raids. US Army Special Forces (or Green Berets), are a jack of all trades. However, their main task is training guerillas and foreign nationals and leading them into battle. However, they are a large organization and this allows versatility and specialization within SF. To go over their role in it's entirety would take longer than these forums would allow.

These are men, America's best ! One hundred mmen will test today but only three will win the Green Beret !

Don't you think its somewhat hypocritical to mourn the loss of our own troops, whilst - in the same breath almost - revelling in the death of 'enemy' troops (they are husbands, sons and brothers too you know!).

The Ranger has been morphed with the Airborne and been turned into and Large unit Navy Seal. In fct their training is the same except for the emphasis of large unit formations, units larger than 16 soldiers.

Rangers come from the need in WWII for America to have the American equivilant of the British Commando. They trained originally in England along with the British commandos and had a few different missions. One was to be placed in a regular unit and train regular army soldiers, another was as hardcore trained rapid response in the battalion, brigade, division which ever was threatened. Also they were to be also a higher advanced soldier for difficult missions for the advancement of the main army.

yeah the green berets arent point infantry men but used to sabotage the enemys intelligence and stuff they use a method called force multipyers the train local rebels to help them out so there may be 12 GB but 2-300 rebels that help them fight while a ranger is askilled rifleman who is on the front line.

i really cant thank our men today in this "Global Conflict". For what they are doing but seeing thisvid and others like it gives me hope that than cancome out ahead and come home to see their families. Thanks alot
