Firefight with Canadian forces against Taliban during Operation Zahar, a joint Afghan National army / coalition forces security operation to remove Taliban forces from the Zjarey district.

M4 Carbine - The M4 Carbine is a family of firearms tracing its lineage back to earlier carbine versions of the M16, all based on the original AR-15 made by ArmaLite. The weapon is a shorter and lighter version of the M16A2 assault rifle, achieving 80% parts commonality with the M16A2. The M4 has selective fire options including semi-automatic and three-round burst (like the M16A2), while the M4A1 has a "full auto" option in place of the three-round burst. The M4A1 is sometimes also found with a heavier barrel to withstand heat from sustained fully-automatic fire.

AK-47 - The AK-47 (Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947) is a gas-operated assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, produced by Russian manufacturer IZH and used in many Eastern bloc nations during the Cold War. It was adopted and standardized in 1947. Compared with the autoloading rifles used in World War II, the AK-47 was generally lighter, more compact, with a shorter range, a smaller 7.62 × 39 mm cartridge, and was capable of selective fire. It was one of the first true assault rifles and remains the most widely used. The AK-47 and its numerous variants and descendants have been produced in greater numbers than any other assault rifle and are in production to this day.

Generally considered a part of Central Asia, it is sometimes ascribed to a regional bloc in either the Middle East or South Asia, as it has cultural, ethno-linguistic, and geographic links with most of its neighbors. It is bordered by Iran in the west, Pakistan in the south and east, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the north, and the People's Republic of China to the east.

    dude the Furniture is a different synthetic and the C7a1 (when it had a solid butt) had spacer rings that could be adjusted, and the rear sights were different (retaining the m16a1 sight)
    the M16Ax and the C7Ax are both very much ar15s oh the C8=M4 noth the m14

    Well, there's not that big a difference, but it's just about getting your facts straight. Even someone who's never seen a gun before could tell the difference between an m16 and c7, and the c8 and the m14. Although produced by the same company, they are different guns

    Hey OpsSilent I'm pretty sure your wrong about the equipment I'm positive that they are actually using the Canadian standard issue fire arms which do look like the firearms you specified however -and not to brag- are superior firearms than the M4 designed to handle more extreme conditions. Our fire arms are the 'C' class and range from the C6 to the C9 and are for the most part the only thing Canadian soldiers use. However they are similar looking firearms and are easy to confuse.
