    C'est un ancien pilote de F1 qui a détenu pendant longtemps le record du nombre de grands prix disputés.
    Il était chez Renault dans les années 90, et même s'il a peu gagné, il avait un excellent coup de volant et était connu pour être un vrai gentleman driver.
    Son tour ici était dans le cadre d'une démarche commune avec Honda. Il avait d'ailleurs testé la f 1 Honda RA107 peu avant.
