Reminded me of my own day and brought tears to my eyes. A day I'll never forget.

I don't know about anywhere else but everyone cries a lot in Gujarat at Bidaai.When is time to leave everyone stands in line and the bride and groom takes everyones bleesing and you should see the bride when she comes to her mother or father. She wont just stop crying and it makes everyone cry. Even people who don't know her starts crying.I still remember how i ran after the car at my sisters wedding.I was young back than but i still have the video and it still makes me cry.

This just reminded me of my daughter's wedding 4 days back , and i just could not stop my tears . I think its a very emotional situation . just few days before i thought i would never cry now i jus cry even when iam working on my pc at office

As it is said in the beginning of the clip, this is a very emotional time for the bride and her family and friends and most of the times I have seen people shedding tears. There is no compulsion or tradition that one must cry.

correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that in North India everyone including the mother MUST cry and do cry. Even outsiders cry. I attended one such wedding and bidaii. when everyone started crying I was also carried away. Some friends from the north told me that if the girl does not cry she is considered besharam or shameless.I know it is considered inauspicious. But this bidai ceremony is not a special big ceremony in south even though it is there. And in the south they do not cry openly.

No this is not like that. In north-india, it is a belief that bride's mother should not shed a tear..that is considered as inauspicious for the daughter. You can now realize how much agony the mother is feeling when whe is not allowed to cry (due to some superstition)... she cries like heavens... only a her nearest ones can realize that.....

I am literally crying.. I imagine my sister in this girl...........God bless her.
