    C is usually the main computer hard disk partition. You don't want to format that. Create the drive you want to install 2000 on, boot into the CD, and install it on that drive. If it wants you to format that drive, fine, do it. If the Windows setup does not see that drive, go back into Vista and right click the drive you made, click on new simple volume, and format it in NTFS in Vista. Then try to boot the CD again and install it there.

    then it started to say it was reformatting my c drive now i dont know if it was just reformatting the drive i needed it too if it was reformatting my whole Hard Drive.

    Okay i have one more question.
    When i boot it by resarting the computer it works fine and every thing but then it asks me which HD/part of the hard drive i want to install it on too. it shows my noremal C drive but doesent show my new K drive.i gives me a chose of 3 i can chose from one is the C drive ones a drive that has like 7688 mb and one has 9999 mb. the one i srunk had only 9.76 gb so i jus went ahead and tried it and when i did it said it had to reformat it so i let it.

    You must shrink the partition. Shrink it to about 15-xx GB. Then, boot into the Windows 2000 setup and install it onto that drive. If Windows Vista is now not an option in the bootloader, then check out my second part to this vid, or maybe it's in here, on how to use Easy BCD.

    I have a question.
    every time i try to install Windows 2000 on my comeputer(that is running vista) i get this annoying message that says'This CD-ROM is from an older version of Windows than the on you are presently using.
    Setup functionality from this dick will be diabled'
    So now i cant install it and it does it every time i try and boot it.
