    Oh Lord have Mercy! Because you can dance to a beat does not mean you are sophistocated and experienced. Certain music evokes certain feelings and expression. That's why the Pase Doble actually looks like the dance because they are doing it to music that reflects the spirit of the dance.

    They cater to different audiences. I have seen and enjoy the Brazilian Samba, swing, Cuban cha, rumba, argentine tango but as a matter of personal preference, I choose dancesport. I have a healthy respect for the Latin American dances and acknowledge the classical existence of these dances. Perhaps you should learn to RESPECT as well.

    Take for example, contemporary ballet which is derived from classical ballet but technically and artistically different. However, it is still respected by many classically trained dancers. Dancing, just like any other art forms, will evolve. Dancesport is enjoyed by many people around the world just Brazilian Samba and Salsa are as well.

    I cannot understand why there are so many vehement people who are resolute in their desire to slam dancesport. Dancers trained in dancesport KNOW that they are dancing stylized versions of dances taken from the Latin American culture. They do not claim that these versions that have been created are classic interpretations.

    Hip-hop did not evolve from classical music. Hip hop is african and is a totally different genre of dance. You can read my other posts regarding my dance background. Get educated.
