Clip from BBC documentary Auschwitz : Inside the Nazi State- detailing plans for building of the camps at Auschwitz- which would eventually include Soviet POWS and Poles and Jews. The complex included forced labour camps and privately owned industrial plants and the "Death Camps"- Gas Chambers and crematoria. aprox. one million Jews would be killed at Auschwitz. Even today there are large numbers of young people who know very little about Auschwitz or the details of Hitler's fanatical anti-Semitism which led to the Final Solution so there is a need to insist on passing these historical facts onto each new generation. Otherwise they become the easy prey of the anti-Semites, the Neo-Nazis and the Holocaust Deniers.

    It is indeed 'Sarabande' and I think flyswat is right - it is probably Handel's version.. It was used on the film 'Barry Lyndon' by Kubrick.. The piece was originally called 'La Folia' and is one of the oldest known classical pieces. Practically every classical composer has done their own variations on it.. Vivaldi's is great as is Salieri's! Even the music from 'Fargo' by Carter Burwell is closely related to it
