sounds like straight cut gears?
Im guessing for strength,there using straight cut gears,or the clearances are out of spec,bad part,bearing etc.

they should do something about that. the driver is the most important element of the car. i'm pretty sure even with earplugs he was probably cussing the S**t out of his engineers for the entire race lol
