Well no duh, cuz they made the song.

His sound is sharper,but it still sounds quite good.

Kirk Hammett can not play it like Mark, because he uses a plector, and Knofler uses his fingers.

its nearly sure that the original sounds better, i think the aim of this version was not to beat the straits but to honor them

Not as bad as all the whiners are making it out to be. They honored Knopfler by covering this great song. Not the best - but I've heard much worse lol.

i dont understand, there was some good S**t off of garage covers. Metallica can cover some stuff well. But why does this sound like crap?

Straits' version is way better in my opinion:
Knopfler has got a better voice,
Guitar is way better,
and it sounds a bit like hetfield is screaming..

these 3 points are I think dishonouring the original!

Some people can, some just can't. Not a reason to mock them, it's always worth a try. Just for that, Hail Metallica.

Not everyone's perfect. The original may be better, but it's almost always better.
I haven't seen anyone, in my life as a musician, ever succeeding to make a great piece out of Nothing Else Matters, except for Metallica.

Whoa whoa whoa... James Hetfield CAN sing, without doubt. And I am no metallica-loving retard who knows nothing about music and singing. After he has started practicing for real, he has become extremely good, for a rock music singer.

Mark though, is a false singer, but that doesn't matter at all, of course, he is still a legendary musician. Don't come here and mock Hetfield though, shame on you!
