In 1968 I saw the MB's in concert and was totaly astonished. They reproduced the sounds I heard on their records completely. In 1969 I saw them again, in the round front row, as they passed by I could have reached out and touched them. This is one of the all time bands of the 60's and 70's. As time passed they began to lose members and their feeling for the power in the music they had. And that is absolutely Justin Haywards falsetto. John was a tenor but Justin was a Lyre tenor.

I kept there album "this is" on a pioneer pl-550 turntable for years. once a month or so i would listen to parts, to put something else on always overwelmed (I had other music off the turntable). They are timeles backwards and forwards like few others.

  • zander, actually ...

    zander,
actually in this particular version, it is Justin's falsetto- not John's that you hear. John sings more in his natural voice.

  • I doubt that very ...

I doubt that very much, given the sound levels throughout are entirely genuine - clearly evident in the vocal harmonies (occasionally Lodge's falsetto comes through too strongly).

  • I noticed in the ...

I noticed in the video that the drummer Graeme Edge was putzing on his beat and then Ray Thomas gave him a look-see and the beat suddenly picked up. This seems like one of those pre-recorded video plays at a live concert.

    sweet,
I think they avg about 20.00 or so. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for mine. You can order them from the official Moody Blues site, Mike Pinder, PBS, and cd universe, just to name a few.
