I think Bernie Mac would rather want to be alive. And I think that everyone there should want that too. A man was cut down in his prime, dying as he couldn't breathe, and they make jokes. It's highly disrespectful, because as Bernie's friends they are suppose to be sad that a person so close to them has fallen. I understand that they want to remember the good times rather then the sad ones, but he JUST died, and their at his FUNERAL! I understand they want to laugh but theres a time and a place

The F**k are you saying man, what he did was perfect, he showed alot of respect to bernie but he relaxed the atmosphere at the same time. I bet he cried before and after his speech, but his speech was perfect. Bernie has been funny all his life, he would definetly not want a sad and boring funeral. No reason to be ashamed of.

That is why there was two memorials, private and public. This is the way that Bernie would have wanted to be for his fans. He made comedy because there was too much sadness around.

For a name like culturewarrior, you don't know much about culture at all. The guy is a comedian. Its something that comedians share beacause to tell jokes is to inflect the truth and talent. The guys may have been talking about, "When I go, I want ya'll to celebrate..." at one point in conversation. Not all cultures use the cry and roll out in the fall routine, or at least not comedians.

His colleagues use their comedy to make people who are sad, feel good about Bernie and his comedy.

Another great is taken from us. A sad, sad thing indeed.
