As a Scotsman this makes me proud to be one. My favourite movie moment. It reminds me of the common Protestant Christian heritage that the USA and Britain historically share.

You know,
I really don't think this move was supposed to be about nations competing. You see the results of that early on in the movie with those poor bastards with mangaled faces. It's about this honor and integrity, what true sport is.
Britain and the United States are two great nations that will forever be linked like no others, like it or not.

this isnt an insult , just to say a team-mate did not give up a spot on the team (this is fiction) and the run around the Trinity college was not done by Abrahams

i believe he had 6 months, and he was a 400m runner mainly who had only recently excelled in the 100m, the story of him falling over in a 400m race and still winning is true

Still though, he only had a few weeks of preparation, which isn't much when preparing for the Olympics, especially since he had already spent all of his work training for a different event. And besides, Liddell wasn't a 400m runner, but rather a 100m runner; yet he still managed to win. That was what was so incredible.
