Andrew Johnston: Head Chorister at Carlisle Cathedral

Amazing boy! very very very amazing talent at that age.. wow

Nice voice. His voice is not very high placed, more of a mezzo-soprano range than soprano. The middle register is amazing, but he sounds slightly strained when attacking the upper notes.

I just read that Carlisle Cathedral's choir school was closed in 1935. As an ex cathedral chorister, I attended a choir school on a full scholarship (my parents aren't wealthy, as is the case of most cathedral choristers) and my days as a chorister are some of the happiest memories I have. It's such a shame that Anderew has to put up with all the bullying as this just wouldn't have happened if Carlisle still had it's cathedral choir school.

Not sure why everyone's dissing you, zezyman. What you state is an historical fact and is, actually, complimentary of Andrew's singing. Anyone who doesn't understand what he's talking about should do a search on 'castrato'.

His voice reminds me of Lord of the Rings. I just love it, I could listen so his voice all the time!
