This is the first ever landing of an F-18 (in particular, an F-18E Super Hornet) at Boire Field in Nashua, NH. The runway is technically a little bit too short for normal operations of this aircraft, but with low fuel and a steeper approach path, he got it down and stopped with no problem. Note the full afterburner on the departure followed by near vertical climb: He requested and received an unrestricted climb to 10,000 feet.

By hamman3692 [Affiliate User] 1225492418 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveEmpty weight 30,500 lbs. I talked to to the pilot, and he said he had 4,000 lbs of fuel, let's say 35,000 lbs total. Thrust with afterburner is 44,000 lbs; thrust-to-weight ratio = 1.26. Conclusion: Physics works.

He came in around 4 and took off about 9. He was here for a presentation showing all the stuff they do in the navy.
