President Richard Nixon and his Secretary of State (and long-time personal friend) Bill Rogers discuss Rogers' upcoming trip to the Middle East, which they hope might take Vietnam off the front page and perhaps lead to better relations in the region. Nixon also welcomes Rogers back home from a previous trip and they talk about the politically powerful Building Trades Union (or in Nixon's frequent parlance, "the hard hats").
