The future of South African Railways Steam Preservation is in the construction of larger, more powerful and detailed SAR Live Steam locomotives. Testament to this can be seen in this old video footage of a 9.25" gauge Class 15F 4-8-2 on a private railway in Kloof, South Africa. The locomotive is barely being put through its paces or under any strain whatsoever but the final scene shows an application of full brake up a steep gradient which hardly even breaks a sweat.
