Amzing to look at that tracklist, back then, they were the greatest artists not to say "Gods" to me...are you sure they played all those seven tracks, they would have taken about an hour of that whole night !?!
I wonder why David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler never played together, I just can't wait for both of them to turn (it) up !!
By the way, you forgot to mention that sax player :)

  • ok lets settle this ...

ok lets settle this down Dogmanfourlife .... not one or other are the best guitar players ever ... they are both great musicians and guitar players .... MK may be a little bit better in my opinion ... they have both identical styles but the diference is that MK uses his fingers to play and Mr. Clapton uses a pick .... that makes MK's sound sound unik ....

    great vid

  • I just cannot say ...

I just cannot say anything else to describe better than it's already was. Clapton is sure a example of what a great guitar player should do or be. And MK as well, so... what else but perfetcion could happen?

  • If you watch ...

If you watch another piece from this concert, like Money for Nothing, Mr. Clapton plays entirely the lead guitar in solo's. That wasn't perhaps the best reply.
But Knopfler is amazing at the guitar too, but still think Clapton is the better of the two.

  • WRONG ANSWER!!!!! ...

WRONG ANSWER!!!!! Knopfler blows him away, look at Knopfler in concert on this video, then look at Clapton when he's alone in concert, he gets 0wn3D and he knows it. Why else would he not play ANY LEAD on this song? If Clapton's playing with another guitarist, he normally plays a little lead or splits it half and half.

  • Dog - Eric's the " ...

Dog - Eric's the "best" if you don't know anything about the guitar. Frankly, when he can play something other than boring pentatonics, I will respect him more. In the mean time, I am subjected to his dozen or so contributions to the never ending top-40, hit-parade of fluffy pop-S**t In the end, Eric is much like a fashion pair of jeans, as long as the labels there, the quality doesn't matter.
