No it does not. Have you looked at all the evidence?

The evidence better supports a creator than it supports darwinian evolution

Saying nothing about the content of his words, D'Souza is sure hard to listen to. He way too strident and loud.

  • Thinking "a creator ...

Thinking "a creator made it" is not the easiest explanation. Having a creator who made the universe requires the creator to have intentionality, to have purpose. Also you have to except epiphenominalism, and explain how the ethereal and physical can interact in a one-dimensional manner. It is much easier to believe that the universal principals of gravity, electricity, magnetism, etc. are all interdependent. This guy just basically is thinking "it is easier for me to understand it this way."

  • Dennett gives ...

Dennett gives credit to Christianity (if you watch the whole debate, youll see), but I would say Christianity owes its existence to natural human imperatives.

  • Fine tuning for 'us ...

Fine tuning for 'us'. I wonder if a bacterium feels just as special as we do. It just so happens that we are here...No special thing in terms of existence, but we are special in our own minds and its wonderful to be alive because we are the best of a bad bunch so to speak..we feel like we are great(which is ok) but we're really just squidgy blobs on the earth. Fine tuning is not a good argument in God's favour. I will post more later on this.

  • The creation ...

The creation phenomenon, yeah sure.. something that "created" what we now have... which is what scientists are looking for too. He has no right to shove intelligence and creativity into it though. The only thing we're allowed to reasonably suppose is that there once was a "one-time use Universe creation package"... anything beyond that is speculation, or otherwise put, a "manmade invention", which is exactly what this debate is about...

  • Well, He made some ...

Well, He made some points for the premise of "Creation", Perhaps by a gang of surly cosmic wizards or a omnipotent demon-ghost. He didn't make any points for the existence of his creator of choice.

  • Dennett seems to be ...

Dennett seems to be very shallow. D'Souza seems to need very little effort to drown Dennett in a sea of intelligence. It really seens that Dennett leaches off a society that got its success from Christian philosophy while not giving credit to that mindset for his education and freedoms.

  • Umm... none of his ...

Umm... none of his points are actually good... they're just recycling of the same old points that have been made for centuries and that have been long disproved...
"fine tuned for us"?... as Neil DeGrasse Tyson once said "Just look at the volume of the Universe where you can't live..."
By the way, AlGhazali single handedly destroyed muslim science with his bullshit, stopping all progress in the middle east and making it into what it is today.

  • Unfortuantely the ...

Unfortuantely the Christian guy made a couple good points and kept me interested and the calm collected Darwinist said nothing while almost putting me to sleep. Based just on this I'd give the debate to Dinesh. A solid defeat for the old man - the captain of "um"

Its a little ironic that the Christian has to resort to yelling in an attempt to be convincing while the Darwinist is calm and collected.

I think this debate is great as far as proving that we really know nothing. Valid points from both sides, but at the end of the day, nothing groundbreaking. Meh.

He doesn't speak for all of us sir. I'm Catholic, I'm a uni physics student, JPII said that Catholicism and evolution are 100% compatible. I'm a pretty simple guy, and that was good enough for me.

  • Crypoenigmastist, ...

Crypoenigmastist, you clearly don't understand evolution if you think it is not logical. It may be counter-intuitive, but it is definitely logical. Why do you think every reputable scientist in the world believes it to be true? If you want to criticize something, it's a good idea to understand what you're attacking, otherwise you just look ignorant and foolish.

Correct that! He did admit it [evolution]. But said we shouldn't have evolved to try and solve BIG problems. Thanks Denesh. I feel sooo much better.

No more questions people so stop asking. God did it.

  • "The fined tuned ...

"The fined tuned universe" is probably the best we don't know argument for a creator. But its still simply a god of gaps assertion. Its certainly not Occam's razor to say an omnipotent wave wander did it all. That in of itself creates a multitude of questions and is by no means the simplest answer. Its a cop out.

  • He still did not ...

He still did not answer any of Dennetts question including (and conspicuously) do you believe in evolution.

Big bang theory doesn't say that you idiot [no time prior] and doesn't imply it. You continually bastardize theories. Big bang is the expansion of the observable universe which had a pt of origin - est 14 bil yrs. It doesn't speculate pre big bang Muppet. Learn the theory.
