No, that is not true! It's just one of the many urban myths attached to Amityville Horror.

Is it true that the Lutz family slept in the DeFeo beds? That's a bit scary and macaber in my opinion.

It is quite possible that they experienced something, but highly unlikely to the extreme that they claimed or allowed people to believe.
I have heard that there are many holes or misleading information in their stories. I had a hard time trying to keep this video as unbiased. I wanted to present the facts and remove the Hollywood hype.

Most of the Lutz's claims were found to be false. Stuff like the doors ripping of hinges when after they left the original doors and hinges were all still intact. Or "Jodie's" footprints in the snow when it did not snow that year. And their claims they called the police multiple times when records show no such thing. I think maybe the house was haunted but not to the extent they led many to believe.

I have heard that Ronald "Butch" DeFeo even said that Dawn was involved, but his grandfather instructed him to confess and stop claiming that Dawn was involved. I saw it on a special report that was aired on television. I actually saw it here on You Tube as well.

Sadly, there is so many questions in this case that will never be answered and Dawn DeFeo's involvement is one of those questions.

Some people and websites say that Ronald DeFeo's sister Dawn was involved in the killings. I don't believe that.

It was a tragedy that way to many people profited from! My heart goes out to the 4 children who lost their lives!

A very sad but interesting video. I guess it's a very sad story what happened there in 1974. Six innocent people died while they slept. In my opinion it's only a family tragedy. That's the real horror story. I suppose the story of the Lutzes is false and not true. I also don't believe that Ronald DeFeo had heard voices. It's a horrible story.

Chances are the crime scene photos of the 7th Body were crime scene photos from an entirely separate crime. Both pictures show the same fake wood paneling & the same iron grate. But, a lot of homes did have both at that time. The DeFeo murders and the 7th body murder may have happened around the same time or the same camera was used in both investigations. Some believed that this 7th body was Dawn moved into a different location & placed into a different position.
We may never really know.

when was it decided that the 7th body was a hoax. That is news to me.
