I first saw Waylon in 1979 at the Missouri State Fair, and not again untill what was his last concert--Station Casino Kansas City Oct 2001. After he left us in 2002 i had the Phoenix tatooed on both arms. Visited his grave in 2003, Mesa City Cemetery--God bless Waylon---

HELL YEAH!!! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that Waylon is the King of Country. Thank you coywmoore! I wish all Waylon fans would think the same. His music must always be continued. Smoking cigerettes is a very bad habit of mine, but I'll enjoy smoking the Willie Nelson cigerette! And let's not forget the others of the 'last of the breed'.

I think we can unanimously agree that Waylon Jennings is great. Yet how many of you actually acknowledge Bob Wills as the King of Western Swing as Waylon boldly states in this classic number. Remember, it was Bob Wills who inspired Willie Nelson- "He'll be the first to tell you..."

So when these Johnny-come-lately Texas musicians perceive Willie as God, they must first pay their respects to Bob Wills, whether they like his style or not.
