Flash Tutorial: How To Make A Button

i want to know a thing and that is ''when i click the button i want my movie to start how do i do that?''

This May sound stupid but ... i have done all the steps and got to do all you said till I get to the color panel part. I have NO IDEA were to find that panel you bring up with the effects and stuff!! Could you please tell me? Thanks in advance. (I have Flash 8pro)
