Thanks. Jim Reeves has a beautiful voice, and this is one of the songs that reminds me of my childhood. My mother played his album Tall Tales and Short Tempers all the time, and I used to wonder why the songs sometimes made her cry...and now I know.

i have been a fan since 1963 he is the best of all still brian .

My dad used to play this song all the time. It was the B side to Danny Boy. This song used to make my cry then and it nearly made me cry again just now.
It must be over 30 years since i last heard it but the song still strikes a chord within me. Thanks for posting.

No, I have a compilation of songs called He'll Have to Go and Tall Tales and Short Tempers, a remastered import. It was hard to find because Tall Tales has not been published since the 70's.

I was a little kid when he died, and my mom played her songs from Tall Tales/Short Tempers all the time, and I am sentimental with all the songs on that album.
