If you think the cougar is big, you should check out the liger. They are much bigger than a cougar and usually weigh around 1000 pounds.

The cougar would win easily. The leopard is just too small. Normally a leopard weighs around 100 pounds. The cougar is usually anywhere from 170-220 pounds.

No for the number's I got they just dangled a piece of meat above the cat and then raised it up little by little until they couldn't reach it and then measured how high above the ground the animals feet were with a high speed camera and a computer.

no, you're right i'm just saying comparitively, for their size they do no jump as high as the other cats. i'm just wondering if all these numbers are at the same elvel. Not to doubt them i belive them but what are the jumps measured at. because i read that the jump for example, of a cougar at 15-18 f was actually how high it was abel to jump upon. is that the same for the other numbers you have on the list?

Ligers are very heavy and they can run fast but not for more than a couple hundred feet. The reason they are so heavy is because they are about 1200 pounds of pure muscle. Most ligers that have been bred have been only about 2% fat. The rest was muscle, tissue, organs, and bones. If you have that much muscle, it doesn't matter how much you weigh, you can jump incredibly high.

Pound for pound, the leopard is by far the strongest. A 95 pound leopard can carry a 300 pound animal up a tree.

Caracal is 8-10 feet
Bobcat is 10-13
leopard is about 15 on average
cougar is 15-18 (a rumor says its max is 22)
lion is only about 14
tiger is 20
and the liger is an amazing 29 feet
