I pulled a writing laser from a 16x DVD burner and turned it into a laser pointer inside an altoids can.
-AA powered
-Adjustabled collimation
-Momentary push button
-Constant on/off
It can light matches, cut electrical tape and pop balloons

    where did you find the collimating lens? I just bought a dvd burner (22x) and it seems that the laser is not very powerful, but i a using a stupid 1mw laser lens.
