My stepdad was 1 of the flight engineers in the Lancaster for 1 display season, heres one of the videos he filmed, when they were transitting between Morecambe and Coningsby, late summer of 2006 season. Theres only 2 airworthy Lancasters left in the world and this is 1 of them, regestration is PA474. Hope you like it and feel free to comment.

    Amazing video - I was ATC 10 years ago, but I hate flying - however, I've always said I'll go up in a Lanc, regardless of the risks. My grandfather was a navigator over Nuremburg, and I've give anything to see what he had to do. He was an incredible man - shot down and never said anything about it (as they wouldn't...) The Lancaster was the most incredible aircraft of WWII, and we should remember it and its crews

    I filmed this using a kodak digi camera (not vidoe camera) . That my mugshot in first few seconds of film. We were transitting between Morecambe and Coningsby, late summer of 2006 season. My next trip on the Lanc will be when they dump my ashes out of the back .. Hopefully not too soon!!!
