Piercing Moscow Traffic Jam by Bike

Recent years in Moscow region wasn't much snow. Roads were always clean but polluted with anti-ice chemicals.

But if you try to go off-road - you'll definitely stuck in snow as you described. Skiing is more popular than biking in winter :)

Winter cycling in Russia probably doesn't compare to Alaskan winter biking it's ridiculous unless your using fatties I sink deep into the snow with my Nokians and watch the fatties roll by as I sink :(

awesome commute did anyone honk or say stupid things to you? I got one more threat on my commute today telling me to get off the road??? I was going faster than the cars, brings me to this conclusion from your video say 40% of the cars in the video could use a bike for the commute then the traffic jams would be reduced to almost 0...

why do you think so ?

The traffic does look pretty difficult to ride in.

It's good to see how riding differs (and is similar) in different parts of the world. I'd be interested to see what that route is like in the depths of winter! :-o

Both running red lights and riding on pavements are illegal for bikers.

Unfortunately in this city there are no bike lanes at all. I almost don't ride on pavements. But many cyclists do. They think it's safer to ride on pavement than on road. Moreover, most of motorists get pissed off when see biker on the road, and they think cyclists should use the pavement to ride.

I must admit I don't think I would take some of the risks you do. Some of those gaps look tight, and vanishing! :-o

I notice you run the odd red light and mount the odd pavement. How is that viewed in Russia? It's frowned upon and illegal here in the UK.

Снимал на камеру Oregon Scientific ATC2K, закрепленную на руле. Вел в данном случае гибрид. На шоссере трясло бы гораздо сильнее :)

классно 5+, тоже хотел снять, что то в таком роде, когда катал на шоссере по Москве, да все руки не доходили..
