There are now estimated to be only 1300 Bengal tigers left in India, 350 Sumatran tigers in Indonesia and between 400 - 500 Amur tigers in Siberia.
A total of 2250 -- 2350 in all.
Loss of habitat and poaching for the tiger trade continue the decline and who knows exactly how many are left? When they are gone what then? Will they become extinct at that point? Is there any hope of saving them? Yes there is!! Thanks to THE WILDLIFE HERITAGE FOUNDATION, www.whf.org.uk
a UK based charity who are working hard to ensure that the big cat species of the world are protected from extinction. An active partner in the European Endangered Species breeding programmes (EEP), they are helping to save these wonderful cats, so that hopefully one day the tiger will once again burn bright in the forest of the night.

oh makes me cry ...
oh makes me cry watching this everytime. I love them all so much, expecially Makari. Id do anything to be back there again, especially with Puna and her new cubs. Miss them all so much, wish this world didn't revolve around money, coz id work there for free forever, it's the most amazing place and the people are just as fab. AHHHHHH Miss it soooo much
