In my defense I must say that Darren himself claims in his youtube video entitled 'Become a motivational speaker' at around 2.46 and I quote'I was a paid motivational speaker long before I won the world championship' can you explain this. cheers John

  • To Darren and ...

To Darren and Champions edge I sincerely apologise for my misguided comments. I am a great fan of Darren as can be seen by other posts I have left on occasion.I was totally wrong in suggesting Darren was a paid speaker before the comp. Darren chose a very pro way to approach this championship in his research and excellent coaching. His success often brings comments from fools like me I was wrong Thank you Champions Edge for the wakeup!! peace

  • You obviously don't ...

You obviously don't know what you're talking about... Darren was working as a telemarketer when he won the competition. The 2008 WCPS winner (LaShunda) is an 'ordinary' Toastmaster. (She's a CC -- hasn't been a TM for very long!) Last year's winner, Vikas, isn't a professional either... MANY other WCPS winners also weren't professionals. Perhaps if you worked as hard on your speaking as you do at JUDGING people, you could win the championship, too?

  • Darren was a pro ...

Darren was a pro speaker long before he entered the comp. He had access to pro coaches and all those winner videos. He entered this amateur comp as a fully fledged pro. what chance does the ordinary toastmaster have. Only pro speakers win this competition it politics of a sort.
