Released in 1990 on single and in 1991 on the album Keep The Music Playing. A great video with Shirley Bassey was produced for this song. Shirley Bassey has performed this song live in many shows and concerts, for example on her tours in 2000 and on the Stately Homes Tour 2001.

This song had also been sung by: James Ingram in 1983, and Frank Sinatra in 1984.

This song is from the romantic comedy movie "Best Friends" in 1982: Lovers as well as collaborators, scriveners Richard Babson (Burt Reynolds) and Paula McCullen (Goldie Hawn) who have lived and worked together for many years decide to make their union legal. Predictably enough, they discover that their relationship goes straight downhill after they say "I do." It causes many unexpectedly funny and awkward difficulties. They soon find that being married is often quite different from being "best friends." The film contains a shower scene which was notorious at that time. Some say that "Best Friends" is autobiographical, because this story of a male-female screenwriting team was written by real-life married scenarists Barry Levinson and Valerie Curtin.

This song was nominated for an Academy Award 1982 as Best Song.
