you know that I don't mean understand in it, so far as to be able to name everything that's going on and explain it. There is a certain level of understanding conceptually, not completely technically, for certain types of music. Going off what you said, that means that someone who doesn't know spanish could just sit around and watch the Spanish channel and just enjoy the "gist" of emotion. I don't think that's going to happen, the person has to understand the language, at least at some level.
