  • Children like ...

Children like almost everyone in the world is in the state of habitual pleasure. One day the house were burning , the children were inside. The father came back from work and saw his burning,'yelling' telling the children the house was on fire, the children would not listen. Then the father told a lie so their life can be safe. " I have some good toys here if you come outside"

There is a scientific approach of finding what every religious person is seeking. There is a positive approach and a negative approach, once you master both or awareness of both, and only both you can see wholly. Lies can be truth, and truth can be lies.

An old man came and sat in the hall. Maharshi was reading Sarma's
Sanskrit recension of Arunachala Akshara Manamalai (the first of
The Five Hymns to Arunachala). The man asked softly: "It is said
that realisation is beyond expression; and expression always fails to
describe the realisation. How is it?"
Maharshi: The point has been mentioned in Arunachala Ashtakam, Verse
three where it is admitted that, although the expression of realisation
is impossible, still its existence is indicated.

  • The Self can ...

The Self can attribute labels if it wants. Its not either/or. Its a given that it is beyond labels but like Maharshi says by speaking of it as Self it is being pointed to. You are confused by the idea that the label Self implies limitation when it is just a mental reference to something indefinable. That very 'Self' is the thing which, by forgetting it does not change its reality. Thats what he means by Self, not a limiting mental concept.

I'm just a con man, take it or leave it.
How can the self attributes labels? The self is either a label or no self at all. Forget the self, where do you go from there?

  • Then why could you ...

Then why could you not accept that what Ramana calls the Self is the same thing you do not attribute labels to? You seem to contradict yourself frequently.

the question can you at the same time accept and not to accept. If one can't then one is still not balance.

  • "If you are ...

"If you are interested of ending this illusion one must continue to search until you explode without advocating any teachers in order to be free."

This is a contradiction. If one must continue to search until you explode, it is not wrong to advocate a teacher or teaching. Once you are free there is no reason to do so. Even then it is alright for others even if not for yourself.

Aside from that, to agree with a teacher because you understand his meaning from your own experience is not wrong.

  • The point i made ...

The point i made was what Ramana means by Self is the very thing you dont ascribe and definitions to, so to deny the referring to it as self is also ignorance. It is the same thing regardless of labels and definitions. For one who sees this, there is no bondage even in calling it Self or whatever.

Yes i have looked into it. I understand what you are saying and it is something Ramana himself has pointed out quite clearly. My responses to you have been regarding your previous posts. In them you did not tell me anything about making inquiry into what he says. You are saying that now. My responses to your previous posts have been regarding those previous posts you made. Let us not confuse the issue.

  • I am not telling ...

I am not telling you to reject Ramana and believe me, I am telling you don't believe whatever someone is saying until you look into it yourself. Have you look into what he is saying or are you just quoting? I use to seek many wise teachers, but it is because that I kept seeking I was an illusion. I stopped seeking, that what has ended the illusion. If you are interested of ending this illusion one must continue to search until you explode without advocating any teachers in order to be free.

  • The reply below ...

The reply below which you gave on the other page to someone contradicts your belief in what youve just said about you can only know yourself. If one can only know himself, how can you know if this guy's life is meaningless by having belief in these teachings? You are confused i think.

"The only thing that exist for you, is seeking the meaning of life. Because of that, it has turn your life into a meaningless one."

By saying there is no self you are calling it no-self. That is what you didnt grasp.

"There is no self. So how can one continue to seek Ramana as a teacher, or anyone else who preaches about the self or no self?"

One can only know himself, and himself is no different then any other person. Everything else that one calls knowledge are just observations that were given a name. We invent many names because of profession, that is why the original is lost

You cant know if his life is meaningless. Thats a value judgment you are projecting on his life. How can you even know if that is the only thing that exists for him? You are just blindly judging something you cannot know about.

  • Self or no-self is ...

Self or no-self is all semantics. What Ramana and philosophy of advaita in general means by Self is That reality which you are, whether you think of it as a self or not doesnt change it. What that 'Self' is in this context is like a coin, one side of which is self, the other side non-self. But what is the coin? For purposes of simple explanation they call it Self, the indefinable reality of what you are beyond your sense of 'I'.
