why does the cat rubs it paw on the toilet seat? i'v seen lots of cats doin that

Theres a much easier way to do this, I've seen a training kit in my local petshop,It consisted of a clear plastic cover that covered the seat and catnip.

We are stuck at step 3 -lol

It's called "Feline Pine" It looks weird, but it is GREAT. It's natural, biodegradable, and it works great! And it is not very expensive.

I've heard it said that about 6 months is a good time to start them toilet training. My cat is 6 months, and is progressing nicely.

my cat was also originally an outdoor cat. she too occasionally went outside the litter box, she would go just a couple feet away from it. she stopped after probably about a few months. i don't know if being an outdoor cat has anything to do with it, but she did stop eventually. i'm sure yours will grow out of it too, since you said she usually does use the litter box.
