    Years ago I got a Don McLean compilation, but was disappointed to hear an "improved" version of this song, which lacked the spirit of the original even if it was less somber. I was starting to wonder if someone else had done the version I liked from 1981, then I saw this posting,so thanks. Hearing this original version almost 30 years later packed a punch.
