  • Well, my ...

Well, my understanding of this poem is , Rumi is trying to Explain There is no one Except One God .And He is beyond the Imagination what we humans think of ? Our simple mind has limit but GOD is Limitless in everything . He is everywhere .

  • Ok what Rumi is ...

Ok what Rumi is talking about is the height of spiritual experience where one feel as if one has become one with GOD, not to say Rumi is GOD. He understands to some extent the limitlessness of GOD.
But problem with kind of ideals is that simples minds of masses cannot understand it, they start to think that they are parts in GOD themselves or in His powers.

Neti Neti! Not This Not That.
Only Timeless Being. Devoid of Identities, unidentified, endless, beginningless. Indescribable, unamginable ISNESS. Just This and Nothing Else!

  • but he also said ...

but he also said that he wasn't from the east or the west, and that he wasn't from this world, or the next... he is saying that he is NOTHING...
if the soul isn't grown enough, it's very hard for it to understand these kind of things...

  • Rumi is saying it ...

Rumi is saying it doesn't matter what he is - all that matters is we all remember we are human beings. When we forget that, nations fight and fight and fight.

  • @ liimra99 : God is ...

@ liimra99 : God is One , All is One
Why divide your understanding of "God" ?
I hope he meant that Rumi is God , what i also hope is that he didn't mean he ONLY was God .
For God is without limit , therefor You and Me are also God .
    As is everything and everyone.

I second you on your comment! Well said! only one critic: You contradict your self somehow by the statment that:"1st of all Rumi was Persian " If it doesn't matter where Rumi was from, which as you said it doesn't, then your statment would have been much more valid if you hadn't, mentioned Rumi being a Persian.
    Thank you,and Kheir pish!

  • People who are ...

People who are proud of the achievements of others are not always racist. It's ok to have pride & love for your home/country etc and people from such places.

However, I agree that we should try to all see the bigger picture and not get caught up in things like extreme patriotism which can lead to racism.

Islam teaches that there are different nations so we may recognise one another and do good works with each other, but we are all equal.

So let's celebrate heroes, but without idolising.

I 've noticed something very unusual people who are very racest narrow mind and backward they always say i am proud of my heroes from war heroes to academics philosphers and physicians from wright to wrong but they don't know anything about reality themselves let rumi or any other noble man be from everywhere as it may bring people close and make a strong friendship.
