Mixed Martial Artist: Strikeforce Middleweight Champion

Cung Le (born May 25, 1972 in Sài Gòn, South Vietnam) is a Vietnamese American San Shou kickboxer and mixed martial artist fighting out of San Jose, California who also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is the current Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. Some have called Le "the Bruce Lee of MMA."

Kickboxing career

Cung Le is undefeated in his professional San Shou career (17-0-0). He has won three US Open International Martial Arts Championships (1994, 1995,1996). He has also won 4 US National Championships (Orlando, Florida 1994, Dallas, TX, 1995, Baltimore, MD, 1997). He earned three bronze medals in his amateur San Shou world competition, trained under the tutelage of the US National Sanshou Team Head Coach Grand Master Shawn Liu (1994-2001). He has been a three-time captain of the United States teams that competed in the Wushu World Championships. Le was the U.S. team captain at the World Martial Arts Championships in 1997 (Italy) and 1999 (Hong Kong).

On 15 December 2001 he defeated Shonie Carter by unanimous decision in San Jose, California to win the IKF Pro Light-Heavyweight San Shou World Title.

In May 2003, Le entered into K-1 competitions where he garnered a 3-0 career record, including 1 knockout.

Cung Le is well-known as a Kung fu/Sanshou technician world-wide. He is currently nominated by Asian communities at large in the US as the most outstanding Asian American fighter in the world. He is also a great coach guiding his students not only in athleticism but also in character, ethics and integrity. He is a true traditional Shaolin Kung fu master in the modern ring. He is not only a great fighter but also a great mentor and model to his fans and students alike. He has great loyalty to the Asian community, especially the Vietnamese community, Kung fu, Sanshou, his own coach Shawn Liu and the Martial Arts World at large. On top of all he is a good father and family man.

  • China was conquered ...

China was conquered and ruled by Mongols (less than 1 hundredth of Chinese population at the the time) whereas Viets kicked Mongol asses. Hundred millions of Chinese groveled and kissed Manchu assess when Viets kicked Manchu asses.

1000 years of slavery under Chinese rule only testifies to the weakness of Chinese culture and the strength of the Vietnamese culture. Vietnamese culture prevails in the end.

Btw, I'm Chinese-Vietnamese, and prefer to be Vietnamese. And so F**k YOU, RETARD!

  • to bad he won't ...

to bad he won't ever fight a person with real skill. If he had balls he would have signed with the UFC or Affliction.
