    When you're turning the gun away from you and are worried about getting shot (obviously) you can also move your legs away from the gun (gun goes right your legs go left), which allows more of your body to get out of the line of attack.

    Once you have control of the weapon, even if it is fired your hand is covering the shell ejection port which will cause the gun to jam eliminating the threat of being shot.
