I heard they were all sold in Canada also. I think mainly in Quebec, but I could be wrong about that.
I think they would all have been 3-speeds. Either '78 or '79 models.

Believe me, they did in factories inside my country. Our regulations about emissions were more flexible than yours so They putted a 260 HP 350 v8 in our cars. I have one of them.

Ever hear of the "Iraqi Malibu"? Apparently they were all 3 and 4 speed manuals, but the order got canceled to Iraq so they ended being sold here! Most were 4 doors though:(

first off a 3.8 is 231ci Second a 5.7 Liter is a 350ci A 440ci is 7.2 Liters and a dodge motor. Finally if it goes 0-60 in 4.2 the 1/4 mi would be way more that 9.3 Yoyve probably never ran your car at the track. Get the facts strait before you talk out your ass.

i'm the 3rd owner of a 78 chevrolet malibu and it too came stock witha weak as hell 221ci 3.8 liter engine i could only go 70 in that car, NOW i have 440ci 5.7 liter, it now goes 0-60 in 4.2 sec 1/4 mi in 9.3 sec.

You're right man, Im from Mexico too and the mexican malibus did. Our cars didnt come V6 ever, here the basic malibus were 250 L6 and the Classic versions were all 350 V8 with the police suspension and brakes, nice car m94argarita.
I've an 80 Classic Landau and of course has its factory 350.
