Notice how quickly it takes off.
haha amen.... i couldnt agree more!!!! Im glad u guys built it before us.. urs is better than any of them... it's still sad though... i wish she was still flying.
By JonBellew12 [Affiliate User] 1203515398 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt was sour grapes mate! They (your government) didn't like the idea that we'd built one before them!
By CelticSaxon [Affiliate User] 1203512451 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTrue. She was more efficient supersonic than subsonic, but severely restricted by regulations and could only go supersonic over water.
She also came in just before ll the digital systems. A modern Y2K Concorde would have a very different flight deck.
She was retired for a combination of factors. Costs were rising, but so were tickets - plenty of people willing to pay. She was profitable ( once development costs were written off) and was paying her own way. The AF crash was caused by debris due to a lack of deflectors - these were recommended, but not fitted, to AF Concordes. BA Concordes had them.
The nail was that Aerospatiale had decided not to make any more spares, severely limiting the future life.
Oh, my father was a Captain on her.
its so noisy ;l
By mcr6612 [Affiliate User] 1203446955 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is not true. TU-144 was a bit faster.

By qazchaz [Affiliate User] 1203248596 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt's pretty pathetic that the US Government wouldn't let her fly over US Airspace. She only came to Dallas-Ft. Worth twice I think?
By JonBellew12 [Affiliate User] 1203190176 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou could almost say it's a STOL aircraft ;)

By mayavania [Affiliate User] 1202512256 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeget your facts right before u slander someone.
Concorde was a tolally anologue controlled plane.
no, you might have taken that the wrong way, why i said that is because Bobbiec224 thought that A320 was the first with Digital Fly-by-wire, but it was concorde, i said concorde was made in the 60's because A320's were made in the 80's. I miss concorde :(
By larry141094 [Affiliate User] 1201904879 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhy should that make any difference? It's a marvel of engineering, truly magnificent.

From wikipedia (not the best resource, but it is correct):
... Concorde was the first civil airliner to have an analogue fly-by-wire flight control system...
