Martin sp lights usually! He does switch brands alot like barrage says, he'll play d'addario's often too! He'll bang a new set on before every show.

i asked him that very question when i saw him live. his awnser was that he never sticks with just one type of strings. he says guitars get used to a certain type if you keep using them and lose tone (no idea if thats true but he is the god of guitar!) he says he changes them every six weeks and has about twenty different makes. ---- maybe not what you wanted to hear but hope that helped!

He uses other guitars as well.. He said in one of the interviews that his main guitar is the one he is playing now, he always carries this guitar on him wherever he goes never checks it in as check-in baggage.

its not a baritone, but he does tune it down a few marks like his dreadnought.

I guess he use as a spare guitar? you know, as a reserve.

He does for lower songs like Initiation. I think it's a baritone guitar

does anyone know if he ever uses that other guitar? I always see it on stage or off to the side, but i never see him playing it.

I was at the same concert and my jaw had dropped to my knees. This man is the best and I`ll never see anyone as good again.
