    Another way to put it is two say the sun is more than 1.3 million times as big as the Earth. The sun is a small (average but small) star. The average distance between stars are several lightyears and their are more than 450 billion of them in our galaxy alone (maybe almost a trillion). The nearest galaxy to us (the Andromeda) is almost 3 million lightyears from the eagde of the Milky Way. Their are hundreds of billions of galaxies in the known universe alone.
