Michael Franks - ANTONIO'S SONG

Yes - he almost exclusively writes his music and lyris himself - and he was so good at it in the 70's and 80's. Lately his well seems to have dried up - unfortunately. His best songs (there are many) however are fantastic. His albums 'Burchfield Nines, 'Tiger in the rain', 'Sleeping Gypsy' and 'Passion Fruit' are must-haves

love the song and the sentiment -- however, it sounds as though Franks has a "guide vocal" (pre-taped line or "background" vocal) support on the chorus.

I've been loving the fantastic phrasing of this unique vocalist for over thirty years. He does not get old.

Chris is playing such a beautiful sax. It is such a trick of luck that he has almost the same musical roots as Dave Sanborn, and a same feeling. A great and rather underrated player...

What a wonderful song of dedication and love for Antonio Carlos Jobim. Interesting this song was composed far before Jobim's death in 1994. Since then, Franks has produced the beautiful Jobim dedication album "Abandoned Garden"
