Just because pornography/hentai fulfills a base desire does not mean it's cheap.

That doesn't make any sense. Whether something is pornographic or not has no effect on its quality. There is good anime and bad anime, but it's all artwork (and one of the finest examples of it, in my opinion).

Just because something has sex in it, doesn't make it pornography. It can be done tastefully. As to why it's still considered hentai if it's tasteful, that is an extremely complex subject dealing with the history of Japan and western importation of their remarkable culture.

Not really. There is good anime and shitty anime, and there is good hentai and there is shitty hentai. Some h-manga has beautiful artwork. I consider it art. Also, making something arousing is something that requires skill. An artform if I've ever seen one.

Anyway, I don't know why you're being so condescending with your "westerners" comments. Nobody said anything about anime and hentai being the same thing. They're not.

I mean hentai(/pornography) its a genre, a collection word for specific content.

Animation(/movies with real people) is the medium that transports the content.

Its like language and swearing.
You can curse someone in many different languages, the content stays the same, or differs slightly.

And in the end swearwords are part of every language.

As pornography is part of every artform.

Anime is an artform, hentai is pornography. Capice? It's as simple as that. They are two VERY different terms, but I must say, it's just like Westerners to misinterpret and muddle the two together.
