Its always about Alexander for you Alexander lovers! The history of a nation is not based on one 33 year period of one person. You have to take Macedonian History in its entirety. Selective history is false history. Macedonians have evolved over the centuries just as the Greeks did. You wouldn't even be able to communicate with the ancient Greeks. Oh, and I don't think Alexander would want to be ruled from Athens! Hell no, he would revolt!

Yes, I agree that there have been some Greeks living in Macedonia over the centuries as a minority. But the vast Majority of people living in Macedonia were Macedonians with their own language and culture. The Greeks only recently got the upper hand when they settled so many Greek refugees from Asia Minor into Macedonia in the 1920's. Now native Macedonians are a minority in their own homeland.

That's when greece started to send teachers and bandits into Macdonia with the permission of the Turks to keep the Macedonians from gaining their independence. The Turks also let in some Bulgarian Teachers and bandits. This was a Turkish strategy of divide and conqueer. It worked, but in favor of Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia who partitioned Macedonia in 1913.

All I know is that 100 years ago, my Macedonian grandparents where under the rule of the Ottomans until the Greeks took over in 1913. They built new towns next to Macedonian towns, and Pontos and other Greek refugees from Asia Minor settled there in the 1920's. The Pontos were given free lands and positions in Government. The Macedonians were given misery and further enslavement. And much worse: ethnoicide by Greeks intent on assimilating the Macedonians into Greeks.

No matter how much history you read up on, and how easily you can quote an ancient inscription in Greek, it won't make you a true Macedonian. You have to have Macedonian blood running in your vains. And being transplanted from Pontos 80 years ago won't do it. Your zeal is a result of a void in your soul which pushes you to fabricate your Greek-Macedonian identity. No, you are not Macedonian, only a Greek Refugee from Asia Minor.

I don't know what is worse, having one steal your identity, or denying yourselve your own real history heritage. I am not familar with the Pontian Shields or Pontos history because instead of learning about your true Pontos heritage, I am just accussed of not having a Macedonian identity. Why don't you start exploring and promoting your true heritage instead of wasting your time picking on us Macedonians?

Yes, the Macedonian Struggle in 1903-1908, we fought the Turks and their Greek allies to gain our Freedom, only to find ourselves under the yoke of a far more brutal occupier: the Greeks! Yes, in Greece you are 2 million Macedonians: 1 million of them with their ancestors that came from Pontos and other parts of Turkey 80 years ago and are now claiming to be Macedonian! You are the ones stealing the Macedonian History and presecuting the remaining 1/2 million native Macedonians that were living there centuries before your ancestors arrived from Turkey. Now you are in a panic because the remaining native Macedonians in Greece are starting to awaken to their national identity.
