  • i don't think it ...

i don't think it ever took 1000 tries for me to develop competence in a technique. maybe im just way more athletic than you or something?

im also not sure why he can't demonstrate this attack the way its intended to be used. is he going to kill the other person if he does? even still can't he just slow motion demonstrate with the same motions he would use at full speed?

  • questions like: why ...

questions like: why the one who gets the lock aint attacking,or that u wont use it in real fight cause u worry how to punch it...thats stupid! for demonstration purposes he cant show any resistence, and to actually use this or any other martial arts move in fight,u need to practice it till ur body naturally reacts to it...try doing it like 1000 times, than it will be natural without thinking.this applies to any other technique, kick, punch etc..only with hardcore training u can use it instinctively

  • and why do you ...

and why do you traditional losers insist you learn straight from mercenaries and prison gaurds? your making this crap up and even if you weren't, these people aren't necessarily experts in fighting. you are all just so F**king lame

  • Maybe if you spent ...

Maybe if you spent more time actually fighting and less time theorizing about what you think fighting might be like, then you would realise how rediculous this post is. And do you actually think its common for bouncers to break peoples fingers if someone tries to grab them? There are legal issues involved and bouncers prefer not to mame people if they can avoid it.

and by the way, that would almost never work, and even if it does it ranks right up there with a S**ker punch

  • I agree. U r too ...

I agree. U r too busy trying to stop yr wrist snapping to worry about throwing a punch!U wouldn't go into a fight thinking 'I'm going to put nikyo on this guy', but if the situation was right and you got the chance and could get this lock on then attacker is in for one hell of a shock. I've had four years of taking this lock from someone who can really do it - and I try and punch him. I have built up some resistance to nikyo but it still absolutely kills - and I've never managed to punch him

  • think about this ...

think about this scenario: bloke goes to grab front of your shirt to headbutt you. As he grabs you catch his fingers and bend them back towards his face and downwards (common bouncer technique). As he drops to the ground screaming in agony - from this position nikyo (or a dozen other things) is easy to apply. All in the timing. Get it right and attacker will almost pass out with the pain. Vids show you HOW but not necessarily WHEN you'd use a technique - and that goes for all martial arts!

  • I train with prison ...

I train with prison guards who use aikido all the time. Don't confuse training vids with practical application of martial art - which is the common mistake most people seem to make on Youtube. This technique can not only ruin your day but your year if the person who doing it (1) knows how to do it properly and (2) really wants to hurt you. If really cranked it on the radius and ulna and all the little bones in the wrist snap and the tendons are shredded. You are in a cast for a long time....

  • Sorry but this is ...

Sorry but this is not right - most aikido techniques trace their roots to daito ryu (aiki jitsu) (16th century) originally used by samurai as secondary empty handed martial defence for use if they should lose their sword in battle - your parallel between samurai and hooligan doesn't make sense. O'Sensei's teacher, Takeda Sensei, was daito ryu master and one of greatest martial modern martial artists. Aikido is potentially lethal as any other martial art - if you choose to use it that way.

  • It is kind of hard ...

It is kind of hard to imagine but nikyo is quite a painful technique. It has, as a matter of fact very little to do with force; An 8 year old can apply it on a 21 year old. It's pretty hard to explain, the best way to learn is to experience it yourself.

question to the person who uploaded this: is the man in the demonstration, not the master but the student, is he actually unablae to go against the masters force or is this merely for demonstration purposes

Chill with breaking of bones. Aikido is a non-lethal defense martial art.

Break that bitch's arm. People like that have to realize it's not polite or healthy to go around being violent to people. Snap 'em all, let ER sort 'em out.
